Natsuko Hirose's career as an animator takes off after high school, and she becomes a director shortly thereafter. Her first anime is a huge success, gaining widespread recognition and establishing her as a rising talent. For her next project, she decides to make a romantic comedy film about first love, but her own lack of experience with love makes it difficult for her to develop the story. As a result, production on the film stalls.
