Saki Episode of Side A

Shizuno Takakamo, a student at Achiga Girls' Academy in Nara, is inspired to revive the school's mahjong club after seeing her former classmate Nodoka Haramura, now the national middle school individual mahjong champion, on television. The club was previously active, having defeated regional powerhouse Bansei High School in the past, but was disbanded after losing in the national team semifinals. Six years earlier, Shizuno befriended Nodoka when she transferred to Achiga Girls', but Nodoka moved away after just two years.
