Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo Movie 1: Operazakan - Aratanaru Satsujin takes place when the Opera House is hosting a production of "The Phantom of the Opera". Inspector Kenmochi invites Kindaichi to celebrate an anniversary, and while there, they meet the acting troupe rehearsing the play. The "Phantom of the Opera" turns out to be a real killer, and Kindaichi must solve the murders as they occur.
