Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop follows the story of Cherry, a socially awkward high school student who finds solace in writing Japanese haiku poems to express his emotions. He meets Smile, a popular video star who streams her life online, and they form a connection despite their vastly different personalities. Their relationship unfolds in a provincial city, centered around a mundane suburban shopping mall where they first meet.
