We Rent Tsukumogami

The Edo period setting of We Rent Tsukumogami places the story in Fukagawa ward, present-day Tokyo. Due to the area's susceptibility to fires and floods, residents often rent household items from shops like Izumoya, run by siblings Obeni and Seiji, rather than buying them outright. This allows them to easily relocate when necessary. As renters, Obeni and Seiji also possess a unique relationship with tsukumogami, objects that have developed sentience after 100 years.
