The Relative Worlds

Shin's life has been marked by loss since his mother's sudden death as a child. His father, a scientist, was often preoccupied with research, leaving him to rely on Kotori Izumi, his childhood friend and the daughter of his father's employer. As they near the end of high school, Shin and Kotori begin to form a romantic connection, but their lives are turned upside down with the death of Shin's father. This sets off a chain of events that reveals a shocking truth: his parents' deaths were connected to a high-tech parallel universe in dystopian Japan, where Shin's "relative self," Jin, is fighting against humanoid weapons Miko and Niko.
