The Poem of Wind and Trees

The Poem of Wind and Trees takes place in the 19th century, specifically at an elite boarding school in France during the 1880s. Protagonist Serge Battour, a young man with a complex family background as the son of a viscount and a Roma prostitute, returns to the school after graduating. His past experiences, including his time at the school as a student, are marked by his struggles to connect with others, partly due to his heritage and family circumstances.
