The Life of Guskou Budori

The Biography of Budori Gusko, based on Kenji Miyazawa's novella, won several awards, including the Monbusho Selection. The story revolves around Gusuko, a young boy from a rural family with his parents and sister. A series of severe droughts and natural disasters lead to the family's breakdown, prompting Gusuko to leave home and seek a better life on his own. He eventually joins the Iihatov Volcano Department, where he works with scientists on projects to combat natural disasters that devastated his hometown.
