Mick, a sleeping chironomid, finds himself on a space station with other insects after humans take them up for experiments. The experiments are canceled for unknown reasons, leaving the insects with limited resources. Mick and his friends face numerous challenges, form new alliances, and travel across various planets as they attempt to return to Earth. Along the way, they uncover the reason behind the humans' sudden abandonment.
