The series is an anthology adaptation of eight short stories written by Tatsuki Fujimoto between the ages of 17 and 26. It includes a range of genres and styles, from slice-of-life to supernatural and action. The compilation features eight individual episodes, each based on one of Fujimoto's short stories: A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin' in the Schoolyard, Sasaki Stopped a Bullet, Love is Blind, Shikaku, Mermaid Rhapsody, Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome, Nayuta of the Prophecy, and Sisters.
