Kojou Akatsuki, a high school student on Itogami Island's Demon District, develops extraordinary abilities after a chance encounter. He's subsequently identified as the fourth primogenitor, a highly powerful vampire thought to be a myth, and becomes a target for the Lion King Organization. They dispatch apprentice sword-shaman Yukina Himeragi to watch over him, with orders to kill if necessary, due to concerns about his potential destructive force.
