Amakawa Haruto dies before reuniting with his childhood friend, who vanished five years prior. His memories and personality are somehow revived in Rio, a boy from the slums seeking revenge for his mother's murder at the hands of unknown individuals when he was just five. Rio lives in a world where Haruto's memories also awaken a previously unknown "special power" within him, suggesting it could be used to improve his circumstances. As a result of saving a princess from kidnapping, Rio is awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Royal Academy, a school attended by the wealthy and powerful.
