Sanctuary

Asami and Houjou, two Japanese men who survived the Khmer Rouge massacres in Cambodia, return to Japan with a shared goal: finding a sanctuary. Asami becomes a politician, while Houjou turns to a life of crime. They operate in the intersecting worlds of Japanese politics and organized crime, each using their unique methods to gain power and stay true to their original vow. As they climb the respective ladders of their chosen careers, their friendship is put to the test.
