The events of 2019 saw an unexpected rift open above Japan, leading to the emergence of Shinkoku Nippon, a parallel world that retained its militaristic approach and stayed frozen in the Showa era. This alternate world then invaded our Japan, employing Genmu gas and enormous humanoid Garan robots. Following the invasion, our Japan's government was quickly taken over, and the country was on the brink of full conquest. A decade later, our Japan has transformed into Genkoku Nippon, a dependent state of Shinkoku Nippon, with the country's formerly thriving pop culture, including manga, anime, and idols, having seemingly disappeared under strict censorship.
