Robby Yaji, a man plagued by bad luck, and Hacchi Kita, tired of his mundane life, find themselves in a series of misadventures after Hacchi's boss orders him to collect the debts Robby accumulated through poor investments. Robby decides to escape his financial troubles by fleeing to space and heading to Isekandar, a planet rumored to bring happiness to its visitors. Hacchi joins him on this journey, which includes encounters with aliens, battles against giant robots, and evading debt collectors. Their escapades take place in a society where technology has advanced rapidly following humanity's initial contact with aliens on the moon.
