Kotarou Tennouji, a high school student in Kazamatsuri, lives a carefree life spending time with his friends, Haruhiko and Kotori. Kazamatsuri, a city known for its cultural heritage and green spaces, is a backdrop to Kotarou's daily life. The city's residents share a sense of community and values that Kotarou doesn't seem to be a part of. Kotarou has a unique ability to modify his body at will, giving him enhanced strength and speed, which draws him to the supernatural. He joins the Occult Research Club, along with Kotori, Chihaya, Lucia, and Shizuru, after meeting its president, Akane Senri, also known as the "Witch".
