Prince Nezha's story originates from Chinese mythology, specifically the novel Fengshen Bang. Born after a 3.5-year gestation period as a flesh ball, Nezha develops quickly and becomes a student of the immortal Taiyi Zhenren. The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas, led by Ao Guang, begin causing chaos, sparking a confrontation with Nezha after they start preying on local children. Nezha ultimately defeats Ao Guang in a final battle.
