Ōoku: The Inner Chambers

Ōoku: The Inner Chambers is set in 17th-19th century Japan. A disease called the Redface Pox has drastically reduced the male population, leading to a significant shift in societal roles. Women now hold positions traditionally associated with men, including the Shogun. As a result, the most desirable men are sheltered and assigned to serve in the Shogun's elite inner chambers.
