Ninja Scroll

Jubei Kibagami travels feudal Japan as an itinerant swordsman-for-hire, having lost his master due to past betrayal. He has no interest in the schemes of warring political factions, but his life becomes complicated when he encounters Kagero, a female ninja with a connection to a wiped-out clan. Kagero is tasked with investigating a mysterious plague that destroyed a village; Jubei is drawn into this when he rescues her from a man with the ability to turn his body into stone.
