Hattori-kun, a young ninja from the Iga mountains, moves into the Sanyo family's home and enrolls in their local school, where he befriends Kenichi Sanyo. To maintain his cover, Hattori attends classes with his ninja brother Shinzo, accompanied by their ninja dog Shishimaru, and occasionally with Yumeko, Kenichi's girlfriend.
