Kasumi Haruno is a fourth-grader whose parents are zoologists working in Africa. To spend time with her before they leave, she visits her relatives in Kasumi Town, where she'll be staying with the Kasumi family. Their large mansion, situated in the town's center, is an old family home with a unique atmosphere and some unusual inhabitants, known as Henamon, which are household appliances that Kasumi soon learns can talk.
