Hikaru's efforts to save the world from Cephiro's darkness have failed, and the evil castle now dominates a desolate Tokyo. Alcyone, the ice-witch, was rescued by Lantis before Hikaru could exact revenge, and he sealed her in a magical maze to test her powers. Umi and Fuu, meanwhile, are on the run, searching for the sleeping Mashin to harness their power and become powerful warriors.
