KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World

Yukito Urabe, the son of a cult leader, undergoes a ritual to become the new leader, but the process goes awry and he dies. Before his soul disappears, Yukito wishes to be reborn in a world without gods or spirituality, believing his actions are futile. In this new world, he meets Aruaru, a girl from a village, but his initial impression of the society is marred by the reality of a government-mandated death system, where citizens can be ordered to die at any moment.
