Gorou's life is ordinary, with no distinct ambitions or desires, until he receives a mysterious notification on his phone. He dismisses it as spam, but after tweeting a provocative message, he's unexpectedly invited by classmate Honoka to a deserted arcade. There, he's informed that his wish has been granted, but at a terrible cost. Gorou is then told he's been chosen to fulfill his desire by killing other "Kamisama" candidates, including the first, Honoka.
