Yurie Hitotsubashi, a middle school student in Onomichi, Japan during the 1980s, navigated everyday concerns like exams and unrequited love for Kenji. Her life took an unexpected turn when she claimed to have become a goddess overnight. This revelation caught the attention of classmate Matsuri, who saw an opportunity to revive her family's struggling Shinto shrine by promoting Yurie as a local deity. As Yurie's "manager," Matsuri helped her balance divine responsibilities with school and personal life.
