Kaiju No. 8

Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old former Defense Force aspirant, now works cleaning up kaijuu remains after they're defeated. His childhood friend Mina Ashiro has successfully become a soldier, whereas Kafka gave up on being a hero. A new coworker, Reno Ichikawa, arrives, echoing Kafka's past ambition. They're soon involved in a kaijuu incident, where Kafka showcases his heroic side and rescues Reno, but gets injured in the process.
