Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood

Set in an alternate history Japan in 1931, the Tokugawa shogunate maintains control, and Emperor Meiji's restoration never occurs. The country has developed its own energy source, the "dragon vein," which combines elements of science and the traditional Edo period. Sawa Yukimura, driven by a personal vendetta, seeks Janome, a Nue executioner, as part of her ongoing quest for justice. Her motivations are likely linked to the death of her family at a young age.
