Masayuki Muroi survives a near-fatal fall off a mountain during a blizzard, thanks to Yuki-Onna, a spirit associated with leading men to their demise, who requests payment in return. Eleven years later, Masayuki has built a successful life, but after his company fails and his wife cheats on him, he reconnects with Yuki-Onna in the city where she saved him. When his ex-wife is found dead, Masayuki is in need of an alibi, and Yuki-Onna enlists the help of Kotoko Iwanaga, a skilled mediator of spirit disputes, to prove his innocence without revealing her existence.
