High School of the Dead

Takashi Kimuro's life is upended when his high school is overrun by the undead, forcing him to kill his friend after the latter is bitten. He teams up with Rei Miyamoto, his friend's girlfriend, and together they escape the school, which has become a death trap. As they navigate a society that has collapsed, Takashi and Rei are joined by other students, including Saeko Busujima, Kouta Hirano, Saya Takagi, and Shizuka Marikawa, who each bring their unique skills to the group. Their goal is to find their family members and uncover the cause of the pandemic that has turned Japan into a zombie-infested nightmare.
