Grave of the Fireflies

Grave of the Fireflies takes place in 1945, as Japan is ravaged by American bombings that have destroyed many cities. Seita and his younger sister Setsuko, orphaned and homeless, are struggling to survive amidst widespread devastation and poverty. The siblings face numerous challenges, including starvation and disease, as they drift through the countryside, met with indifference by the adults they encounter.
