The Yomota family consists of parents Kinekuni and Tamiko, and their son Inumaru. A woman claiming to be Maroko Yomota, Inumaru's supposed granddaughter from the future, arrives at their doorstep. Despite Tamiko's initial hesitation, Kinekuni and Inumaru agree to let Maroko stay, causing tension within the family.
