Tsubasa Shiina, a 10-year-old girl, moved to Hokkaido to live with her father and initially struggled to connect with her classmates. After witnessing a UFO crash, she discovers the pilot, D.D., and a creature known as a Maguar, which has hatched from the ship. Tsubasa is saved by an alien lifeform that merges with her body to become the Figure 17 battle armor, which takes the form of her identical twin sister Hikaru.
