Eiya Arakawa is introduced to the concept of Slave Control Method, or SCM, by Yuuga Oota, who is impressed by her exceptional intellect and intuition. The SCM is a device that can turn people into slaves, and in a duel, the devices exert a powerful influence on the users' brains, amplifying the loser's sense of obligation. Eiya agrees to act as Yuuga's insurance, using 10 million yen to convince his master to free him if he becomes a slave. As a mysterious organization starts to accumulate slaves, Eiya finds herself drawn into a complex and perilous situation.
