"Deji" Meets Girl

Maise Higa works part-time at her family's hotel in Okinawa, a first-year high school student going through a listless phase. Her life changes with the arrival of Ichirou Suzuki, a guest from Tokyo who seems to bring unusual occurrences to the hotel. Events described as "dëji" – a term meaning "totally" or "very" in Okinawan – start happening around Maise, such as fish appearing in her room and a banyan tree crashing through the hotel ceiling.
