Dai-Shogun: Great Revolution takes place in an alternate 1860s Japan where the arrival of Western ships, known as Kurofune, has triggered a crisis. The nation's traditional isolationist policies are maintained through the presence of Onigami, a massive robot from ancient times that has kept the foreign vessels at bay. The story unfolds in a Japan that has not undergone the Meiji Restoration of 1868. Its protagonist is driven by a desire to become the greatest man in the world.
