Cardia Beckford lives in a rural area with her father Isaac, but she's feared by the townsfolk due to a deadly substance in her body. Isaac embedded the Horologium, an eternally beating heart, in her chest, giving her infinite power but also making her skin destructive. Cardia is taken by the British military, but she's later rescued by Arsène Lupin, a gentleman thief who claims he wants to steal her heart. With Lupin's help, Cardia sets out to uncover the truth about Isaac's ties to the terrorist organization Twilight and the mysterious Horologium within her.
