Taiki Inomata is an incoming first-year student who starts practicing badminton every morning in his high school gym. This is partly because he shares the gym with Chinatsu Kano, the star player of the girls' basketball team and his crush. Chinatsu's determination to succeed in basketball is motivated by her admiration for Taiki's work ethic, which he is unaware of. When Chinatsu's family has to move overseas, she decides to stay in Japan and aim for a spot in the national basketball team, and Taiki's mother takes her in due to their family friendship.
