Takumi Harada, a 12-year-old baseball prodigy, joins his new school's team in the small town of Nitta after his family moves there. He believes his presence has the potential to turn the unskilled team into a powerhouse, but needs a catcher who can keep up with his pitches. His search for a suitable partner is answered by Gou Nagakura, a classmate and fan who aims to prove his catching skills. As Takumi and Gou work together, they face challenges from both their teammates and their own contrasting personalities, but are also guided by Takumi's grandfather.
