Maya, an alien woman, crash-lands on Earth after her homeworld is destroyed by the Blasters, who exploit other planets for natural resources. She forms a relationship with a scientist and gives birth to a human boy named Kentaro. When the Blasters invade Earth, Kentaro fights back using the Astroganger, a robot constructed from living metal.
